Overview Edit

The Range Shield is a defensive Off-Hand Device for the Assault class. It is one of three default Off-Hands available to new Assault agents.

Activating the Range Shield creates a barrier around the Assault that absorbs a set amount of incoming 'Ranged' damage. It can help an Assault survive large amounts of incoming fire while the team's Medic recharges Power, or when the Assault is unable to avoid a lethal burst in time (such as a group of Alarm Responders spawning in during a boss fight).

Skills in the Assault's Tank tree can extend the duration and increase the amount of damage absorbed by the shield. The Range Shield is part of the 'Overdrive' device group - an Assault cannot activate an Overdrive device while another Overdrive is currently active.

A specific epic varient of the Range Shield is available for purchase from Dome City's Assault Gear vendor at level 30 for 200 Mercenary Tokens. Uncommon, rare, and other epic varients are occasionally awarded upon successful completion of PvE and PvP missions.
